YBN Newsletter - November
YBN Bloggers,
November is here and along with it we crown the New York Yankees as the 2009 MLB World Series Champions and tip-off the 2009 NBA and NCAA basketball seasons. NCAA football and the NFL are in full swing as the BCS is causing more chaos and controversy as ever, while the NFL has its share of great teams (Colts, Saints) and not so-great teams (Rams, Lions, Buccaneers). Here at Yardbarker, we're very excited about the month of November for a few reasons.
If you have not yet heard, Yardbarker and FoxSports.com on MSN have struck an advertising and content partnership that will enhance the already existing benefits of being a member of the YBN and present unique opportunities to our bloggers. We're very excited about this deal as it validates what we've believed all along: that the YBN is THE best place on the web for independent sports blogs. As a part of this deal, we are making changes to the YBN widget and branding requirements, so keep your eye out for more information about this in the next few weeks. To get more information about the Yardbarker - FoxSports.com on MSN deal, please read this announcement from our CEO, Pete Vlastelica.
Our direct sales efforts continue to be strong, as we have campaigns from Coors, EA Sports, and Gillette running in November. As a part of the Gillette campaign, they are sponsoring an NFL Power Rankings post each week in which bloggers rank the NFL's 32 teams. Big thanks to Joe Sports Fan for moderating the Gillette NFL Power Rankings, check them out! We're pitching several large brand advertisers for future campaigns and with the addition of the FoxSports.com on MSN sales team, our pipeline looks very strong. Stay tuned to this blog for more details regarding upcoming campaigns.
In addition to the sales and content developments, Yardbarker is pleased to announce a new, revamped version of the Morning Bark email. The Morning Bark delivers the 10 best stories from around the Yard right to your inbox Monday through Thursday. Want more? You can also personalize your Morning Bark to receive top stories about the teams and sports that matter most to you. Subscribe to the Morning Bark in order to get the hottest news about your favorite teams, sports, and the top stories from the Yard.
As you can see, Yardbarker has been hard at work to create the number one community for sports blogs on the web. With our new deal with FoxSports.com on MSN, direct sales success, and new products like the Morning Bark, we hope that you are enjoying the benefits of being a member of the YBN. As always, we encourage any questions, comments, or concerns. Thanks!
