“It’s all the same at this point, man. Wins are wins, losses are losses, especially in the situation we’re in. For me, it doesn’t feel any different. It’s tough. We’re losing winnable games… They all sting,” Cam said after the game.

Cam still wants to win more games

Thomas is a fierce competitor, as he looked like the Nets player most desperate for the win. His performance was superb against the Spurs, shooting well from the field with his jump shots and relentless drives into the paint.

He even finished a contested layup against three people in the paint, including Wembanyama. That shows Thomas’ commitment to winning more games, but unfortunately, the Nets are in a rough patch right now.

His performance made it even more perplexing when Coach Kevin Ollie took him out on the last play. KO drew up a play for Cameron Johnson, who took the potential game-tying three to force another overtime, which did not go in. The play left people questioning why Thomas wasn’t in the game, especially during a big 31-point night.

Brooklyn has a star in Cam Thomas

Cam Thomas is only in his third year with the Nets but is securing his position as the team’s building block. The former LSU Tiger has the “it” factor that star players have, as he can carry the team on his shoulders and win more games.

He understands the team’s struggles this year, but Cam has indicated that the team can learn from this challenging campaign. It is a healthy mindset, considering Brooklyn has a talented squad that will only keep improving.

With Thomas as the cornerstone, everyone else will play more natural roles. That includes Mikal Bridges, a star-level talent who’s probably miscast in the superstar role over the past year.
