NBA best bets: Wiesguy's 2 Picks and a Prop for 2/13

Football season is over. If you are a Chiefs backer you probably feel pretty good today and if you were on the Eagles, you are probably looking to rebuild that bankroll. It was a fun game though.

Now we are squarely into basketball season, but this is a funny week because it is cut short by the All-Star Game festivities in Utah over the weekend.

With the Super Bowl commanding so much attention yesterday there were only two NBA games. Tonight we have 11 to choose from. None I love though.

NBA Picks for Monday, February 13

Atlanta Hawks -5.5 (vs Charlotte Hornets)

The Hawks are going to rise in the Eastern Conference over the course of the rest of the season. It wouldn't surprise me if they get all the way to fifth place. They are supposed to get shooter Saddiq Bey on the floor tonight, which gives them even more firepower with their second unit. Perfect for holding leads and extending them. I am not worried about the fact that Charlotte has beaten Atlanta twice already this season. The Hawks have been getting better as the season has progressed. Not so for the Hornets.

New York Knicks -2.5 (vs Brooklyn Nets)

I do not expect the Nets to be awful with their new look but they are still a work in progress. Meanwhile. New York is pretty set and you can make an argument that with KD and Kyrie gone, they have the two best players in this game in Julius Randle and Jalen Brunson. This game has a totally different feel and the gritty Knicks should get the win at home. Brooklyn has beaten NY twice this season but the continuity of the Knicks get them to a win tonight.

NBA Prop

Bradley Beal Over 32.5 Points, Rebounds & Assists Beal has come through for us in the past and he has a nice matchup against Golden State tonight. Beal has been over this number in 3 of his last 4 games, twice scoring more than 30 points over that span. I am looking for a game with a nice pace tonight and the Wizards are going to need Beal to be competitive. By the way, the one time he was under this PRA total, he was at 31.
