Portugal striker Diogo Jota is facing a significant spell on the sidelines this season.

The attacker is set to be out for at least ten weeks to two months of Premier League action.

Jota was stretchered off in Liverpool's win against Brentford at the weekend, landing awkwardly at one stage of the game.

According to Portuguese outlet Record, an injury to his cruciate ligament means a long absence.

Fans and the club had been worried that Jota may be out for the whole season.

However, the club expect that he will be back in mid-April, according to The Mirror.
